Laughter...Medicine for Humanity

Ever think of laughter as an exercise?  It is, and a fun one at that!  Watch an episode of your favorite sit-com, listen to a good comedian, or enjoy the entertainment at a local pub on Karaoke night (after the singers have had a few drinks) and you will experience what scientists call ‘a hearty laugh’.  The result of such amusement relieves tension and melts stress away.  If you have laughed for 30 min or more, your abs will feel as if you had finished several crunches or sit-ups.

With this action, your heart will work as a little harder, as with any exercise routine.  The increased activity of your heart will surge the flow of blood in your body and increase the health of your cardiovascular system!

Since laughter decreases stress hormones, it will generate healthy cells and improve your immune system.  This will help your body ward off the evil germs that hate laughter! A healthier body naturally experiences less pain and fatigue.  It will give you a burst of energy through the endorphins naturally released through laughter adding to your over-all feeling of comfort and positive attitude.

WARNING:  You may experience a spring in your step… a new zest for life…less anxiety and better sleep!

Adding a good dose of laughter to your morning coffee, will not stop its benefits on just you, because it is a social disease.  Check it out for yourself.  Look a few strangers in the eye just a moment as you pass them today and just give them a genuine smile.  Not even a laugh. Just a happy smile. Most will share that smile back at you.  If they don’t smile at you right away, they probably will be smiling a second later, as your happy glance moves away.  (They may even share it to the next person that passes them… and maybe so on and so on and so on!)
Smile while at work… Your colleagues will soon experience a feeling of comradery.  This will ease the workload and bust the burdensome work-stress bubble. Who knows, this may lead you into a better position, (that promotion you’ve been working so hard for), or at least a well-deserved raise!

Don’t forget to share your smile with your family or that special someone who you want to impress… maybe even elevating that smile to laughter.  Your happier presence is also scientifically proved to increase your charisma and powers of attraction.

Laughter is powerful.  Give your smile freely to all who will accept it, and watch the bonds of teamwork, friendship, and even love flow!

Smile!
